Mindy brings over a decade of hands‑on experience in K‑12 education and special education consultation to Focus Forward. After earning her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, she spent several years teaching in both general and special education classrooms within the Portland metro area. She went on to complete her Master’s in Teaching at George Fox University—specializing in instructional strategies for students with diverse learning needs.

Currently serving as a Learning Specialist in the Riverdale School District, Mindy has designed and implemented individualized learning plans, co‑taught inclusive classrooms, and guided families through every step of the IEP process. Her expertise spans:

• Special Education Tutoring & Consulting
  Crafting targeted interventions in reading, writing, math, and science for students with learning disabilities, ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, and other exceptionalities.

• IEP Compliance & Advocacy
  Advising parents on legal requirements, progress monitoring, and effective communication strategies to ensure schools meet each child’s unique needs.

• Educator & Parent Training
  Leading workshops on differentiated instruction, behavior management, and accommodations, empowering educators and families to foster student success.

Mindy is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Education, researching evidence‑based practices that bridge classroom instruction and home support. Driven by a passion for lifelong learning and equity in education, she founded Focus Forward to deliver the high‑quality, compassionate guidance she wishes every family could access. Under her leadership, Focus Forward has already helped dozens of students build confidence, close learning gaps, and chart a path toward academic achievement.
